• Make a larger impact and support the CHW community through this tax-efficient giving option. If you have a donor-advised fund (DAF), you can quickly and easily recommend grants to Community HousingWorks!
• A DAF is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to make life better for people in CHW communities.
• Giving with a DAF allows donors to put a large sum of money into a charitable investment account (getting an immediate tax deduction) and pay out donations to nonprofits over time.
• They are an excellent way to simplify your charitable giving and still achieve your strategic philanthropic goals.

• Did you know that many employers sponsor matching gift programs that match charitable contributions made by their employees? Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and spouses. By enrolling in your company’s matching gift program, your gift could be doubled and go that much further in helping support Community HousingWorks.

• When you make a planned gift to CHW you join a special group of donors who are passionate about Building Futures. The Legacy Giving Society welcomes and recognizes all individuals who provide support to CHW in their estate plans.
• Notify Us! Please complete our Gift Notification Form. This will notify us of your intention and help ensure that CHW receives your gift and uses it as you intend.
• Need some bequest language? “I give to Community HousingWorks, a nonprofit currently located at 3111 Camino del Rio North, Suite 800, San Diego, CA 92108, or its successor thereto, ____________*(written amount or percentage of the estate or description of the property) for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
• If you’ve already included a gift to CHW in your estate plans, please let us know! We want to share updates on our work and use your future gift as you intend!

When you gift stocks and other securities directly to a charity, you make an outsized impact without taking money directly out of your bank account. Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), also known as IRA Charitable Rollovers, are the savviest way for individuals age 70½ or older to use their IRAs to maximize their charitable impact. A QCD can help you reach your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) without having to pay income taxes on the amount of the donation. You save on taxes while helping Build Futures! Contact your plan administrator to request your RMD and elect a QCD naming Community HousingWorks. If you prefer to do this via mail, here is a sample letter you can customize with your information.
