Developed by Laing Companies in partnership with Community HousingWorks (CHW), the project is part of Governor Newsom’s initiative to develop affordable housing on underutilized public land.

Designed to foster independence, dignity, and community among older adults, 233 N 2nd Ave Senior Apartments provides affordable housing for residents aged 62 and above, with 15 units reserved for vision-impaired residents. Grounded in inclusive design standards, the four-story development incorporates thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor common spaces that encourage social connection while supporting residents’ independence and long-term housing stability.

The development addresses the growing need for affordable senior housing in the San Gabriel Valley. Its location near downtown Covina provides residents with convenient access to public transit, essential services, shopping, community amenities, and other neighborhood resources. The project’s energy-efficient systems also support long-term sustainability and help promote a healthy, resilient living environment.
