About the property

Located in San Diego's Cortez Hill neighborhood, Jacaranda on 9th is an 88-unit, five-story affordable housing development in downtown San Diego. It will offer one- and two-bedroom apartments, including 14 apartments that will be set aside for formerly homeless individuals. Courtyard amenity spaces are designed for gathering, dining, and play.

A Welcoming Space
From the interior community room, the dining patio will extend out into the courtyard and provide a BBQ cooking area under an overhead shade structure.

The design includes an accessible pathway that leads to the lower courtyard with outdoor spaces including fixed seating and the children’s play area. The various amenity areas are softened on all sides by gardenesque planting including canopy trees, shade trees, and accent understory plant material.

Serving the Community
Jacaranda on 9th will target households making 30% of the average median income (AMI) or less.

The entire development is dedicated to providing long-term affordable apartments and resident service programs for low-income working San Diego residents, including seniors, working families, and veterans.
