Ten of the 68 affordable apartments are reserved for Transition-Aged Youth, vulnerable youth aging out of foster care, with North County Lifeline as the special service provider. The rental community includes a state-of-the-art community building providing ample space for CHW residential services, computer learning centers and a community space. The grounds include a playground, picnic tables and BBQ, seating areas, bike racks, and an upper-floor resident patio lounge. This community embraces sustainable technologies, with a cost savings for residents. Buildings include flat roofs to provide a platform for solar hot water panels and mechanical equipment. Residents will only pay for the heating, cooking, air conditioning and general electric costs with the County of San Diego Energy Efficient utility allowance schedule.
