We were honored to host a site visit at Azusa for a special cohort from Enterprise Community Partners, focused on public-sector preservation programs. The gathering brought together local officials and housing professionals eager to learn how preservation projects are implemented on the ground.
During the visit, participants explored the story behind Azusa’s acquisition, how its financing is structured—including public funding—and the operational and asset management lessons learned along the way. We also discussed ways the public sector can support current and future preservation efforts.
A highlight of the day was connecting with our own Ruby Harris, Board Member, and Dominique Veasey-Hall, MUP, Programs Associate Director at Enterprise Community Partners, who helped lead the discussion and share insights (📸 pictured in the second photo).
This visit exemplifies how collaboration between nonprofits, the public sector, and community partners can create sustainable, affordable housing solutions for Los Angeles County residents.
