Ways To Help

Located just in the base of San Gabriel Mountains and a few miles northeast of Downtown Los Angeles and , Pasadena is well-known for its New Year’s Day Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game. This city is known as the City of Roses. Pasadena is indeed a good place to live in, but if you are thinking of moving to this beautiful city, consider right away the living cost as the living cost of Pasadena is considered relatively higher than average states.

Housing Needs in Pasadena

With the cost of living being high in Pasadena, the housing crisis continues to be a major problem for big cities like Pasadena. as the housing supply also continues to fall short of its demand. Though the city has been successful in producing affordable housing, the city is still having a hard time meeting the increasing demand for it. Not enough supply of affordable housing is not the only problem faced by Pasadena and its residents. Homelessness levels and housing prices are also increasing, but pay is not enough to possibly avoid all these problems. As a matter of fact, both individuals and families spend more than half of their salary to just have a roof over their heads. This is the sad reality faced by many.

Affordable Housing in Pasadena

Community HousingWorks (CHW) has a successful over 30-year history of developing multi-family, affordable housing and rehabilitating single-family homes for resale in different types of communities (urban, suburban, and rural). We started our operations in 1988 and we have developed and acquired over 3,600 rental apartments in 42 communities. We were not only able to expand locally, but statewide as we have communities in San Diego, Los Angeles, Fresno, and San Francisco. CHW strives to provide a safe place and opportunities to forge a stronger future. Critical access to resources, knowledge and community support are given to our residents. The areas of our program impact include: Financial Well-Being, Next Generation Success, Health and Wellness, and Supportive Housing. Through CHW’s mission and vision, we were able to positively impact the lives of many.

Indeed, there are still many people who are living an unstable life without their own home in Pasadena. The kind of help that we provide is not possible without the help of our generous donors.Through great donations, CHW is more capable of providing individuals and families a place to call home. If you would like to help in fulfilling our goal of helping families, children, and seniors, your generous donation is greatly appreciated.
