Ways To Help

Did you know that Lakeside has held its reputation as a “cowboy town”and “rodeo town” for a long time due to its rural setting, predominance of ranches, and number of horse ownership. At first, Lakeside got its name because of the presence of a small, natural lake that it is surrounded with. Afterwards, Lakeside actually became the home to three large reservoirs namely: Lake Jennings, El Capitan Reservoir, and San Vicente Reservoir. It has also become a favorite fishing destination of many.

Housing Needs in Lakeside

Currently the median price of homes in Lakeside is at about $540,000. Indeed, the home value in Lakeside has increased. With the increase in home prices, it is making it more difficult for individuals and families and this is the sad reality. It seems like more than half of their salary is needed to just continuously have a roof over their heads. As this problem continues, more and more individuals/families are experiencing a housing crisis. Although there have been several programs implemented and organizations that were already created to help individuals/families who are having difficulty affording a home, it is still not enough to really address the real problem.

Affordable Housing in Lakeside

It has been a successful 30-year history for Community HousingWorks (CHW) of developing multi-family, affordable housing and rehabilitating single-family homes for resale in urban, suburban, and rural types of communities. We have successfully developed and acquired more than 3,600 rental apartments in different communities and have expanded locally and statewide. Our main goal is to be able to provide a safe place and numerous opportunities for our residents. We provide access to resources, knowledge, and support to all of our residents. CHW is proud to present the different areas of our program impact namely Financial Well-Being, Next Generation Success, Health and Wellness, and Supportive Housing. We strive to positively impact the lives of many.

Indeed, there are still many people who are living an unstable life without their own home in Lakeside. The kind of help that we provide is not possible without the help of our generous donors. Through great donations, CHW is more capable of providing individuals and families a place to call home. If you would like to help in fulfilling our goal of helping families, children, and seniors, your generous donations are greatly appreciated. Simply fill out the information needed with the amount that you would like to donate. With your donation, you can present a brighter future for people who are having difficulty finding an affordable home. You can also help by participating in our volunteer programs.
