As housing cost soars high in many parts of the state, Fresno was able to remain as an affordable place to live in. However, many families are still struggling to attain something that is already considered as “affordable homes.” Over 50% of families in Fresno are rent-burdened and are growing heavier. Fresno is experiencing a shortfall of affordable homes for families belonging to the low-income and very low income households. Some take advantage of the roof that they have, while some are facing house stress. For these people who are struggling to afford a home, community housing is such a great blessing for them. Community Housing is just one type of Social Housing that provides long-term rental accommodation to those low-income and very low income families and stabilization. These community housing are provided by nonprofit organizations.

 

 

Affordable Housing in Fresno

 

Community HousingWorks (CHW) believes that opportunities begin with a stable home. Aside from building affordable homes in various parts of the state, CHW provides its residents with resident-centered services in order to forge stronger futures. As a nonprofit organization that operated in 1988, CHW develops, rehabilitates, and operates affordable apartment communities in San Diego and throughout California. We now own over 3,600 apartments statewide and serve more than 9,000 working families, children and seniors. We strive hard to provide our residents with home stability and opportunity by incorporating powerful programs, services and connection to various resources. Through these things, we are capable of assisting our residents attain financial stability, improve health, and overall well-being, which eventually leads to their individual success.

 

Indeed, there are still many people who are living an unstable life without their own home in Fresno. The kind of help that we provide is not possible without the help of our generous donors. Through great donations, CHW is more capable of providing individuals and families a place to call home.
