FaceLift

FaceLift is a biannual event that transforms neighborhoods in City Heights, and is accomplished through the help of community volunteers, neighborhood associations, and local business leaders building home equity and pride in the community. Each year, the FaceLift Committee selects a one block radius in the City Heights area to receive a makeover during a one-day event held in June and October. FaceLift gives priority to senior citizens, disabled persons and low-income families who need assistance to make improvements to their homes. On the day of the event, the FaceLift Committee, CHW, and hundreds of volunteers, paint 10-15 homes in the chosen area, and provide additional improvements such as minor landscaping, removal of debris, and the planting of flowers and trees. FaceLift mobilizes neighbors for a neighborhood clean-up of trash and debris in and around the area, including over 1,000 tons of trash in City Heights communities since 1995!
